Thank you for your hard work against illegal aliens! I appreciate your willingness to take a stand and enforce the law.I fully support legal immigration, and believe that anyone here without proper documentation is breaking the law and should be deported. If our government gives someone a free ride just because they snuck in the back way, that is not fair to the thousands of people who are law abiding and who immigrate legally. It is a slap in the face to honest people, and only reinforces that bad behavior is rewarded. Why would we want law breakers given the right to stay through amnesty? They should be thrown out!

I am a liberal and I support enforcing the immigration law. Let me make something clear before I start: I do not say this because of the race of the person involved. I do not say this because I feel something for this country other than the loathing I have been more than happy to express. I say this as someone who has worked in immigration. I say this as someone who intends to immigrate to Canada... I myself intend to be a future immigrant. This is where I come from, and this is where my position is based. I am happy to see that, for once in a very long time, that these police officers are finally enforcing immigration laws. It is a horrible thing that our immigration debate is so laced with racism, that standing on the side of the law is considered racism. It is horrible that one cannot debate on the side for legal immigration, for the law and for the people who came to this country the legal way and to be labelled as a racist. In Canada, the opposite is the case. If you enter Canada illegally or overstay/otherwise break the conditions of your visa, you will be deported after you exhaust all appeals. Once you are deported, you are no longer eligible to immigrate (pursuant to the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act). It is not an issue about race, it is about doing what is right for Canada, for Canadians, and for immigrants who have lawfully entered the country. Does the United States have an immigration problem? Yes. Does the United States need immigration reform in order to adapt to modern times and create an immigration system that benefits this country? Yes. But that does not mean that we need to obfuscate the reality that these people broke the law. If they were brought to this country as a child, they should turn their parents in for human trafficking, as that is what has happened... and then return to their country of origin. If they want to return and live in this country, they should apply through the legal channels... like legal immigrants do. Which brings me another point... the term "undocumented". This is a deliberate obfuscation of the realities of their immigration status. Lose your documents? You can get them replaced from USCIS, CIC or whatever your country's national immigration service is. A few months ago, I had to contact CIC Tech Support to get my Client ID number from when I had my study permit in 2006-2007 and I told them all of the information I had when I entered Canada. They found it. Isn't technology great? These people entered this country illegally. It's not about documents, it's about the fact that they didn't honour the process. It is an insult to all those people who worked hard and went through the process. I know legal immigrants who naturalized and they are offended that these people have "jumped" the queue. If Canada even tolerated a tenth of this shit, I wouldn't consider Canada as my destination country. Canada's response to immigration fraud: They recognize the issue and fix it. The U.S.'s response to immigration fraud: They call it racism to even mention that there is an issue. And before it is mentioned, yes, I am a Thelemite and yes... I believe in Liber Oz. However, technically, you also have a right to kill those who would thwart your rights. But in exercising any of these rights, you open yourself up to consequences as a direct result of your actions. You may eat what you will... but your body may get larger, thereby restricting your liberty in other ways. You may travel as you will... but you risk the outcome of being removed pursuant to the law. I want to live in Canada, but I will not resort to illegal immigration. What I am doing, instead, is to improve my credentials so that I will be seen by CIC staff as a valuable asset to the Canadian economy. These include getting a degree and work experience, improving my health and keeping my fingers on the pulse of the legal immigration system in Canada. Once I get to that point where I can lawfully enter, I will do so. What I will not do, however, is to cross the border illegally. To do so would bring about consequences, including deportation. It is also disrespectful of the society in which I want to enter and contribute to. Immigration applications are judged by objective criteria. If you don't want to be seen as an illegal immigrant, immigrate legally. That's my two cents.
